Chef Michael Bowden

We are lucky to have the talented Chef Michael Bowden here at our acclaimed Belvedere’s American Grill for the past 8 years. Michael has a long list of impressive culinary achievements: he’s a Gold, Silver or Bronze place finisher 10 years running at the Top Chef of the West Competition, a Silver and Bronze award winner at the American Culinary Federation, a Golden Toque Award winner, a Battle of the Chefs competitor and has been selected to judge multiple food competitions. You would think all the time spent in the kitchen honing his skills would have prevented Michael from developing any other talents….but boy would you be wrong!

In addition to his toque, Chef Michael wears a LOT of other hats. He is a Certified Sports Nutritionist, Personal Trainer, and Master Gardener. He has been featured in both Arizona Republic and Sunset Magazine. Perhaps most impressive of all, Michael is a 2 time World Powerlifting Champion, an 8 time National Powerlifting Champion, and the first person over 50 to bench press over 800 pounds.

Interesting fact: despite his gourmet palate, Michael’s favorite food is a throwback to his childhood, PB&J sandwiched between two crackers. If you need something sliced and diced, planted and grown, are pinned under a car, or just need someone to kick your butt in the gym, Michael is your man! Stop by Belvedere’s to sample his cuisine, you won’t be disappointed. Just don’t challenge him to arm wrestle!
